Hi! I am Anna Monsterance (B.A. Anna Benešová). I am an expert wire wrapper with almost 20 years of experience.
I'm the founder of the Czech Wire Craft Society, leading my personal wire wrapping club and gathered the biggest wire wrapping community in the czech republic around me. I found my passion in teaching wire wrapping and helped hundreds of people to learn wire wrapping and even coached people to help them make a living out of their hobby. But all that didn't come easy. I've spent countless hours practising this beautiful craft and learned from all possible problems you could possibly face in this craft. And now you can use my experience so you won't need to go through all that mistakes by yourself.
Almost 20 years of experience are flowing into the creation of my courses to help you avoid all the mistakes I went through.
I've been exactly where you are. I felt overwhelmed, disencouraged and thought about quitting this beautiful craft. The frustration was huge about that the pieces never came out like how I envisioned them and nobody was there that could lend me a helping hand. Back then, in the infancy of the internet, wire wrapping tutorials were nowhere to be found, let alone courses.
But I didn't give up. I spent countless hours trying to gather as much information about this craft as possible, spent countless hours practising and over the years I faced all possible problems first handed and ultimatly learned from all of them. Slowly I understood all the nuaces that turns my pieces from an avarage looking piece to an outstanding one.
Fast forward to today, things have changed dramatically. I've come a long way from traditional wirework of pots and decorations, through wrought jewellery to elaborate jewellery with fantasy motifs, collected tons of information on wire wrapping.
I've been teaching wire wrapping now for over 10 years already. I started out with live sessions in the czech republic and later in germany during my art studies to finance my studies and my live there as well as with selling my jewelry. My czech community grew fast over the years and today I gathered the biggest wire wrapping community in the czech republic around me. I was invited into several interviews, my work has been released in numerous magazines and was offered a deal with a publisher to release a book about wire wrapping which I am currently writing besides all my other projects.
This year, 2023, I finally started to fullfill one of my biggest desires. I've always dreamt about not only teaching wire wrapping in my own country, but world wide. After years of teaching successfully in the czech republic, I finally was brave enough to take this step and founded the "Wire Art Academy". A place for everybody and any level to learn and increase their skill in wire wrapping. I started out with a beginners course on wire wrapping for 4 weeks with over 3000 happy attendants. Over these 4 weeks I gained confidence that this dream is finally becoming reality and so I planned my first advanced course on wire wrapping in English "The Art of Wire Wrapping" with another great success. I am so happy about all the people who are joining me on my personal growth journey and that I am able to share my knowlegde with everybody while all are having a lot of fun. But this should only be the beginning.
